Another way that contemplative ordering
takes form for me is through writing, a vocation which has much the same
energy as cleaning. The way I see it, chaos and clutter can enter a mind
just the same as it overtakes a room. To give form to the clutter and to
honor the Spirit in the everyday events and details of life has been a very
energizing task, drawing me back to the path of faith.
Over the years, I have written poems, letters of confrontation or encouragement
to editors or friends, song lyrics and a few articles. And I love the Internet.
But rather than these being like accomplishments, I see writing as having been
a gift to me. Writing allows me to get in touch with a voice deeper than everyday
conversation. What I'm saying is that it keeps me sane! Click
