The Unknown

by Arthur Cohen

The unknown is always near and yet so far away.

The unknown is never clear, like the sky on a cloudy day.

The unknown is full of fear and sometimes comes with joy.

The unknown is held dear by every girl and boy.

Let us now embrace all we cannot know,

And begin the race to plant what we wish to sow.

The time has come to face all we have in tow,

And never hide a trace of who we are and where we plan to go.
